Mitsubishi Motors North America has released the first images of the 2027 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback, an all-electric vehicle for the North American market, according to a company press release.
The company will introduce the Eclipse Sportback EV in the second half of 2026 as a 2027 model, the release said.
The vehicle will come from Mitsubishi Motors’ Alliance partner Nissan Motor Co and use the next-generation Nissan LEAF as its base, the release added.
Mitsubishi said the electric subcompact SUV will feature unique front and rear fascias, distinct front and rear lights, sporty alloy wheels and Mitsubishi’s Triple Diamond branding.
The Eclipse Sportback EV forms part of Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 business plan, which includes electrification, a refreshed product line-up, a modernised retail sales model and stronger dealer network ties. Mitsubishi said it will release technical details, pricing and the on-sale date later.
