HOUSTON, 18 October 2022: PHILLIPS 66 announced the installation of FreeWire Technologies ultrafast electric-vehicle chargers at its Houston headquarters, marking the first location in the city to offer ultrafast EV charging.
Ultrafast battery-integrated technology
The deployment of FreeWire’s ultrafast, battery-integrated technology was announced by Phillips 66 and FreeWire earlier this year in an effort to address the rising demand from EV drivers for high-speed, on-the-go charging.
In addition to other key locations, Phillips 66 will make use of its network of over 7,000 Phillips 66®, Conoco®, and 76® branded U.S. sites. The chargers are Texas’s first FreeWire chargers to be put into service.
The launch of the EV chargers is a reflection of Phillips 66’s dedication to lessening its environmental impact while working to meet the world’s expanding energy needs.
The corporation has concentrated on four pillars for its Emerging Energy and Sustainability business strategy: batteries, carbon capture, hydrogen, and renewable fuels.
The Boost Charger from FreeWire is a more practical choice for sites wishing to enter the EV charging market. It links to existing infrastructure without having to deal with prohibitive development costs or regulatory restrictions.
By charging the battery during off-peak hours when electricity is less expensive, the site’s operating costs are reduced while still having the capacity to provide consumers with a quick charge.
