VinFast India crosses 10,000-unit production mark

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast [Nasdaq: VFS] has produced 10,000 vehicles in India in less than a year, HT Auto reported, citing the company’s social media announcement.

The company said the milestone reflected the progress of its India team as it scales local operations in the country’s electric vehicle market, the report said.

VinFast has not disclosed a model-wise production breakdown for the 10,000 vehicles, HT Auto reported. The company currently sells three electric vehicles in India: the VF6, VF7 and MPV 7.

VinFast’s existing Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu covers 400 acres and has an initial annual capacity of 50,000 electric vehicles, which the company plans to expand to 150,000 units, according to a company press release.
