MUMBAI, 13 September 2022: BYD has supplied more than 450 of the high-end e-MPV since the e6’s November 2021 introduction across India. The company initially only offered the e6 in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kochi, and Vijayawada. However, the automaker has also engaged dealers in Gurugram, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune, Indore, and Kolkata as well to expand its network throughout the nation. It recently built new dealerships in five cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.
The e6 is covered by warranties from the automaker for three years/1,25,000 miles, eight years/5,00,000 miles for the battery cells, and eight years/1,50,000 miles for the motor, whichever comes first in each case.
Getting back to the vehicle, the e6 is propelled by a 71.7kWh Blade battery (making 95.2PS and 180Nm). With this, it gains a 520 km (city) and 415 km (WLTC) range (combined). The electric MPV also has the ability to regenerate electricity at speeds as low as 2 kmph. A 6.6kW AC charger and a quick 60kW DC charger with 0-100 percent charging durations of 12 hours and 1.5 hours, respectively, are its two charging choices.
The e6’s interior features a 10-inch rotatable touchscreen information display, a 5-inch TFT dashboard, a steering wheel with four adjustable positions, manually adjustable front seats with six positions, and halogen headlights with LED DRLs. In addition, it has a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, front and side airbags, rear three-point seatbelts, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, and an electronic stability programme (ESP).
Without the charger, the e6 has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 29.15 lakh. Currently, it is India’s sole electric MPV.
