ARIZONA, 3 July 2023: Nxu Inc, a US-based technology company that manufactures innovative battery cells and battery packs, announced that it will soon begin field testing its megawatt charging solution, NxuOne.
Capable of delivering up to 1.5MW of continuous power, NxuOne is designed to address long charging times and inadequate power supply for medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles (EVs) and equipment.
NxuOne Charging Solution
The NxuOne charging solution is a proprietary megawatt charger that is approaching alpha field trials. The company is executing against its milestone-driven strategy and expects to begin commercial deployment of NxuOne in 2024.
The development of NxuOne reflects recent developments in the EV charging industry. The final publication of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard, which is being developed by the CharIN association, is not expected until 2024. In the meantime, Tesla‘s North American Charging Standard (NACS) has been adopted by industry leaders Ford, GM, Rivian, and Volvo.
Nxu has endorsed the market’s shift to NACS and confirms that it will offer both NACS and NxuOne connectors at future charging stations. The company believes that NACS is the best standard for the North American market and that NxuOne is the best megawatt charging solution available.
NxuOne is not only compatible and interoperable with current vehicles, but its megawatt-plus capabilities align perfectly with future charging needs. The company believes that NxuOne will play a major role in the future of EV charging and that it will help to accelerate the adoption of EVs.
