All-electric vehicles, also known as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), lack an internal combustion engine in favour of an electric motor. The vehicle must be connected to a wall outlet or charging apparatus, also known as electric vehicle supply apparatus, in order for the massive traction battery pack that powers the electric motor to be used (EVSE). The vehicle has no exhaust from a tailpipe and no normal liquid fuel components, such as a fuel pump, fuel line, or fuel tank, because it is powered by electricity.
